Jeremy Lusk crash video

Freestyle motocross rider Jeremy Lusk died late Monday night as a result of head injuries incurred in an extreme sport contest in Costa Rica. He was 24.

The 2008 X Games gold medalist suffered trauma to the skull after a stunt in the X-Nights watched by some 24,000 spectators in San Jose.

Lusk passed away in his hospital bed late Monday night, while surrounded by his mom and dad, Chuck and Gina Lusk; his wife Lauren, and mother- and father-in-law Lynne and Larry, along with fellow Metal Mulisha riders Ryan Hagy, Cameron Steele, Brian Deegan and Erik Apple.

According to the North Country Times, Lusk was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma and survived a 4 1/2-hour surgery to help remedy the problem and ease the swelling in his brain. He was then put into a medically induced coma but never regained consciousness, the Times reported.

As a biography, Jeremy was born November 26th, 1984, in San Diego California. His residence is Temecula, CA where he resided with his wife Lauren. They were married in November 2007 (she is the pretty blond in the picture).

He began racing at 3 years old and soon excelled in motocross sports, turning pro at the age of 19. Jeremy’s motorcycle of choice was a Yamaha YZ 250 for competition. In his spare time he liked hip-hop music, Mexican food and Italian vacations. More biographical information can be found here.
