Paris Hilton: ‘I’m Not an Airhead’

Paris Hilton says she’s trying to get rid of her “airhead” image in a bid to be taken seriously by the acting and music world.
The 27-year-old hotel heiress — who starred with BFF Nicole Richie in the 2003-2005 reality show The Simple Life — says she’s having a tough time shaking off her ditsy dumb blond image.
She explains, “I think people, from watching The Simple Life where I was playing this airhead, rich brat kind of character - years later, people still picture me like that, even though I’m completely different from that.”
Paris says she hopes her new role in rock musical Repo! The Genetic Opera will help to change people’s opinions.
She adds, “Just getting a role like this is huge for me because I always get offered the same role, basically playing myself.
“But this is different. I had loads of auditions to do - for singing and dancing and acting. Luckily I nailed them all.”
Repo! The Genetic Opera, which also stars Anthony Head and Sarah Brightman, is due for release in November this year.
