Britney: no restraining extension against Sam Lutfi!
Britney Spears will not be extending the restraining order against her ex-manager Sam Lufti, according to her lawyer.
In a statement, Samuel Ingham said the 26-year-old star did not want to be “further harassed” by Lutfi.
The order was issued earlier this year and required him to stay 250 yards (228 metres) away from the singer, but the 33-year-old said he and Britney had “agreed in private” that another order was not necessary.
Spears’ mother, Lynne, obtained the restraining order in a LA court in February after claiming the manager had been controlling her daughter’s life by drugging her and taking control of her finances.
Her father, James, has been in charge of the singer’s affairs since February, and the conservatorship negates the need for a new restraining order since his role allows him to decide who sees his daughter, according to Mr Ingham.
“If Mr Lutfi makes any future attempt to contact Britney after the temporary conservatorship has concluded, she has made clear she will take all appropriate legal action,” wrote Mr Ingham.
Meanwhile, Barack Obama has been likened to the singer and Paris Hilton by Republican presidential nominee John McCain.
In a new ad campaign, images of Mr Obama speaking to a 200,000-strong crowd in Berlin are interspersed with shots of Spears and Hilton.
A voiceover asks: “He’s the biggest celebrity in the world, but is he ready to lead?”
But Mr Obama hit back, saying: “He spends an awful lot of time talking about me. You notice that? I haven’t seen an ad yet where he talks about what he’s going to do and the reason is because those folks know they don’t have any good answers, they know they’ve had their turn over the last eight years and made a mess of things. They know that you are not real happy with them.”
