Maybe some of you have heard of The Web Bot Project, but for those of you who have not, it’s quite intriguing.
The Web Bot Project, developed in the late 1990’s, was created to assist in making stock market predictions.
The technology uses a system of spiders to crawl the Internet and search for keywords, much like a search engine does. When a keyword is located, the bot program takes a snapshot of the text preceding and following the keyword. This snapshot of text is sent to a central location where it is then filtered to define meaning.
The projects concept is aimed at tapping into the “collective unconscious” of the universe and it’s inhabitants. As well, there is an interesting time concept involved and an unusual concept of a “tipping point” regarding the past, current, and future times. It goes a bit deeper than viewing what those of us on the Internet are saying.
But in 2001, bot operators began to notice that stock market predictions were not the only matters being accurately predicted by the program. They began to take notice of coincidence with occurrences and explored it further.
One of the first accurate predictions from the bot program took place in June of 2001. The program predicted that a life altering event would take place within the next 60-90 days. An occurrence of such proportion that it’s effects would be felt worldwide. The program based it’s prediction on “web chatter” which ultimately represents the collective unconscious of society.
Regrettably, the bot program’s prediction proved accurate and the Twin Towers fell on 9/11/2001.
Here’s where it starts to become very interesting. The bot program also predicts a worldwide calamity taking place in the year 2012. For those of you who study astrology, prophecies, and the like, you may already be familiar with this date.
The Mayans were considered by many as great “seers” and built a society that focused it’s studies on time, synchronicity, and consciousness. The Mayan calendar predicts that mankind will end in the year 2012. A period which also signifies the end of the current era in the Mayan calendar. But this end may represent a symbolic end - more so than a literal end. An end that refers to a shift in consciousness, such as a societal shift into a spiritual age from a scientific one.
Many have derived similar predictions from the I Ching or China’s “Book of Changes.” The I Ching was written in 2800 B.C. and is revered to this day in China. A gentlemen by the name of Terrence McKenna studied the I Ching intensely and began to see a pattern emerging. From that pattern he produced a time line graph and called it the “Time Wave Zero” theory.
Terrence’s time line derived from the I Ching ended in the year 2012 - December 21, 2012 to be exact. The winter solstice.
Even more intriguing is the fact that many suggest that there is scientific evidence that points to a very rare astrological occurrence taking place the year of 2012. For millenia, the Mayans believed in the existence of a dark rift in the center of the Milky Way and considered it fact. Only recently did modern scientists discover that it actually does exist.
Many exist, however, in the center of our galaxy is a black hole. And in the year 2012, it is suggested that the sun and the earth will be in direct alignment with this black hole. Scientist speculate that magnetic shifts could take place as a result. In essence, it is theorized that the poles could reverse. The poles have shifted before and Einstein, himself, had suggested this pole shifting theory in 1955.
And I’m sure many of you have heard of Merlin the magician. Merlin was believed to be a Celtic shaman that many of his day considered a “crazed man of the forest.” As a result, during those times he was referred to as “Merlin the Wild.” But what many don’t realize is that Merlin was considered Europe’s greatest oracle or “seer.”
Merlin predicted that the planets will “run riot” through the constellations. Completely off their normal paths of rotation. Scientists speculate that if this were to happen, it would be a result of the earth changing it’s rotation - or the poles shifting.
Merlin also predicted that the use of “talking stones” would be taking place during this time. For those of you who don’t know, stone is the basis of our modern technology. Quartz in particular. Quartz technology is used in cell phones as well as computers. Silicone quartz stores information that can then be retrieved.
Another interesting side note to this, that I will be discussing in an upcoming post, is the use of quartz by the Mayans. The Mayans coveted what were known as the crystal skulls. Skulls carved from natural quartz crystal. They claimed the skulls “talked” to them and gave them information. Could it be that they actually did? Based on our knowledge of the capabilities of quartz crystal and it’s uses for technology - it seems quite possible. Hewlett Packard studied the skulls in 1970 and their results were startling.
The oldest tribe in the United States, the Hopi Indian tribe, believed that the world has been created and destroyed four times previously. The Hopi’s believe that we are on the brink of the Fifth World. They predicted that this occurrence would be preceded by submersion (rising waters), the sun getting hotter (global warming), and earth occurrences (hurricane’s, tornadoes, and mass flooding).
The Hopi’s also predicted that the world at this time would be criss-crossed by a spider web, which could be likened to the Internet. They believed that the end of the Fourth World would be followed by the beginning of the Fifth World. The evolution of life requires violence.
Seems that these beliefs are in line with the predictions made from one of the greatest book of prophecies ever written - the Bible. And the Book of Revelations, in particular.
The History Channel created a special that touches on this very subject titled: Doomsday 2012, The End of Days. It further explores the significance of this date in ancient prophecies, texts, and writings.

It is nothing else but a simple process that has happened and will happen again.
It is simply us humans that make a big deal of it and add a huge title to it, oh! the end! the end!
If there is any end then what can we do about it?
NOTHING is the answer, hence the word E N D is used.
But this is not the case here, since humans or monkey-humans(whatever)have been around for 3,4 million years then our ancestors literally experienced this hundreds of times.
It could very well be the one thing that has made us evolve beyond anything else in the history of this planet, being human i mean.
If of course not there has been some form of intervention (which i believe firmly) in the evolutionary process.
Anyway since the world (that we have created) is pretty much as i like to call it ‘Moving at the speed of light into a wall of Iron the size of a galaxy’ perhaps radical change is positive but will require alot of negative.
Chaos, disaster, hunger, death, looting even massmurder or whatever could happen if the world was turned upside down whitin an hour
But the outcome would be perhaps something that is very old to genes but not to our minds.
We will move on, and we will learn.
This is infact the best that could ever happen.
Dont get me wrong, i wish that everybody on the planet could live long and happy life but reality is not so even if 2012 doesnt happen we still have our own major issues that apparently have no clue of what do about.
So if this celestial event takes place alot of our stuff that is destroying ourself will be destroyed and we will stand for a long time in despair and wonder: What are we going to do?
The answer is simple, we are gonna do exactly what our ancestors did what our GENES have done already and will do again and countless times again.
Returning to being human and finding the material withing and explore it is something we are suppose to do.
Perhaps it is not coincidence that this even (if it takes place) happens during our most advanced time in history, perhaps something is wrong and we missed something and stepped waaay of road (which we all know we have considering the condition of the planet).

interesting concept. I don’t cater to fear mongering, though the end of the world as we know it is happening slowly, now!. I, too watched the history channel special, and if it is so that the polar caps shift then we will see more of the same but on a larger scale. more earthquakes, tidal waves, hurricanes, devastation to the max.. for those who survive, spirituality will be more prevalent in the consciousness of the people. Though I’m anxious for my loved ones, I believe in most of this new awakening..

you are correct. Many of us have been aware of the 2012 date and the fact that it has pervaded many cultures throughout history for a very long time indeed. As you say, many times people are ignorant of what has come before them and easily forget that some things have been around for a very long time–even if they have not heard about it before. There has also been an effort to keep these things out of the public eye and attempt to relegate them to the “fringe”, “crackpot” theories and the like. But these “theories” have been discussed and are a part of history for many, many cultures around the world. Pure coincidence? Do your research, look into the matter as if it mattered. Your eyes may yet be opened to possibilities unthought of.

2012 is the final year of mans self rule. Not because of web bot or any other predictions, but because its the end of mans 6000 years. This winter will begin the final 3 1/2 years of mankind. One can make all the comparisons and interpretations between the bible, prophecy, etc.. they want, but when scientists can say there is evidence that there is a possibility i would think twice. There is no denying the changes we are seeing(as another hurricane (Ike) causes 6 billion in damage and the stock market is crashing)It is all very fascinating, particularly the Mayans and web bot. To me, the Web Bot is a fascinating project. I’ve also done some reading on the ‘Global Conciousness Project ” at Princeton, and find that they both (seem to) rely on human patterns. As far as 2012 goes, I DO firmly believe that something ‘earth-shaking’ WILL occur, and will drastically change our way or life and our current perception of our place in the cosmos. Since we humans are a damned stubborn and arrogant species, it will likely be something achieved only after we’ve been hit over the head with it, so to speak.

Ok, wtf? I’ve noticed someone here posted asking if they could download web bot. OF COURSE NOT! Web bot is a very sophisticated technology which uses spiders to gather information and predict stock market prices, BUT, also predicts other things. Like disasters, calamities, changes, etc.
After much searching, study, pondering, and praying I truly believe that Dec. 21, 2012 will be a day to remeember, hopefully, for a long time to come. 3 years ago I was given 6 months to live. I am still a hospice patient in a nursing home in Boise, Idaho. With few visitors and no family, I cherish my computer and the internet. I think that I will be around for the event.

The web-bot project is very intresting and informative. I am sure it is aculmating many things that are going on in the world.
However, no one knows when the end of the world as we know it will come. What is more important than worry about that is , what kind of person we are and how we live our lives, what message are we leaving our children,family and friends. We should act justly, love mercy and walk humbly. Use our wisdom and knowledge for the greater good.

I remember Art Bell, somewhere around 2001 and 2002, would have this joker on who predicted the US would be destroyed sometime in 2003 or 2004 and the broad center of the US would be permanently flooded, with major eartquakes and other changes all over the US. Ugh. I thought all this would end with Y2K. First off, the Mayans didn’t have a clue what a galaxy was or that we lived in a galaxy so how could they predict there was dark rift at the center of it? You can’t see the center of the galaxy with your naked eye or even with a telescope, because it is obscured by interstellar gas.
The Milky Way wasn’t identified as being a galaxy until the Mayans were dust. The Post Classic Mayan period ended in about 750 A.D.

Plus, what does it mean to be in alignment with the Milky Way Galaxy’s black hole? Alignment depends on your perspective. When we look at a “conjunction” of the moon and Jupiter, that is, when the two bodies appear to be close to each other when viewed from earth, in reality, they are millions of miles from each other.
My conclusion is that this 2012 “tipping point” is the stuff of New Age myth, which should have passed away when Marilyn Ferguson, author of “The Aquarian Conspiracy,” did last month.

As far as how Web-bot can predict the same thing that the Mayans did ages ago is quite simple. People start talking about end of times prophesies at the end of each millennium. They did so in the year 1,000 A.D. just as they did in 2000, but the difference is they didn’t have computer technology to take a tally of all the people talking about it.
So when the Mayan myths come up, interest grew in this, probably because it also happens to be the year of the next presidential election, “my friends.”
So if enough people mention the Mayan myth on the Web, the bot picks it up. Unfortunately, with this message, I’m helping to reinforce Web-bot’s data.
But it’s just that — data. People writing about stuff, it doesn’t mean it has any basis in reality or context. If a lot of people started writing about unicorns, it wouldn’t make them real nor would you know why people were talking about them.
Once people realize that the Web-bot is not some oracle, but just a software program designed to pick up selected “buzzwords” out in cyberspace, and only those “buzzwords” that are programmed into its database, it will de-mystify it.
Its programmers should have stuck to the stock market, that might have helped, because the stock market is a place where beliefs can make realities. Get a panic going, people sell their stock, and the stock market goes down.
If the word “hope” isn’t Web-bot’s database, you are not going to see predictions that are hopeful. But if the word “doom” is in its database, it WILL pick up on those references.
It’s how you INTERPRET that data that’s critical. For example, Google has been picking up on the word “flu” lately. Does that mean that there’s going to be a flu epidemic or simply that flu season is coming up and people are getting reminded to take their flu shots?
The problem with Web-bot or Google search surveys is that there is no context. Without context, you can’t have informed interpretations.

Well of course web-bot will predict 2012 the end of days, its designed to pick up on whats said on the internet - web chat. The web is full of reference to this date.
Anything mentioned regulary online will be picked up. So its not predicting anything, just publishing its findings.
So dont be fooled into thinking its a fortune teller, its a program that generates a report on regulary occuring things.

this is very interesting, but there is a few possible reasons for the program picking up this. If all these religions say that the world will end at that date, of course it would be in many peoples sub conscious, so the program would pick up on that sub concious doubt, and think it to br true. This explanation accounts for the flaws in the system.
